DONA International (Doulas of North America, International) is an international training, certifying and regulatory body for birth and postpartum doulas. It requires extensive study, training and mentoring before certification. Certification must be renewed every three years by completing required CEUs for continuing education. Mama and Baby Boutique, at the Women’s Birth and Wellness Boutique in Chapel Hill, is a local mama and baby boutique. With a focus on breastfeeding and other natural family practices, the store has those hard-to-find products that have previously only been available to Triangle parents through the Internet. Parents are now able to find organic clothing, slings and other baby carriers, breast pumps and supplies, nursing bras, cloth diapers, herbal and homeopathic remedies, great books and more. Located centrally in Chapel Hill, in the same building as the Women’s Birth and Wellness Center, the boutique is conveniently located for Triangle area families.
Moms Supporting Moms — Raleigh/Cary/Triangle, NC. A peer support group for women with postpartum mood disorders (commonly called Postpartum Depression). Meetings are held every Thursday evening.
